Ayurved

What is Ayurved ?

Ayurveda is an ancient Indian system of medicine that dates back over 5,000 years. The word Ayurveda comes from Sanskrit:

  • "Ayu" means life
  • "Veda" means knowledge or science

Thus, Ayurveda is the "Science of Life", focusing on

 holistic well-being, disease prevention,

 natural healing

by balancing the body, mind, and spirit. Unlike modern medicine, which primarily treats symptoms, Ayurved identifies and heals the root cause of diseases.

Principles of Ayurveda

Ayurveda is based on the concept that the human body is governed by three vital energies, known as Doshas:
1️
Vata Dosha (Air & Space) – Controls movement, breathing, circulation, and nervous system functions. Imbalances cause anxiety, joint pain, dry skin, and digestive issues.
2️
Pitta Dosha (Fire & Water) – Governs metabolism, digestion, and body temperature. Imbalances lead to acidity, inflammation, skin rashes, and anger.
3️
Kapha Dosha (Earth & Water) – Maintains stability, immunity, and body strength. Imbalances cause weight gain, lethargy, sinus congestion, and depression.

Each individual has a unique Prakriti (body constitution), which determines their physical, mental, and emotional traits. Ayurveda emphasizes maintaining harmony among these doshas for optimal health.

Core Ayurvedic Practices

Panchakarma (Detoxification Therapy) – Five deep cleansing procedures (Vamana, Virechana, Basti, Nasya, Raktamokshana) to remove toxins.
Herbal Medicine – Use of Ayurvedic herbs like Ashwagandha, Triphala, Brahmi, and Turmeric for healing and rejuvenation.
Dinacharya (Daily Routine) – A structured morning-to-night regimen for balanced living.
Rasayana (Rejuvenation Therapy) – Techniques for longevity, vitality, and anti-aging.
Swasthavritta (Preventive Healthcare) – Emphasizing healthy diet, yoga, meditation, and seasonal cleansing.
